Anders and Han in Gabba's Palace

Went to play poker at my friend Gabriels house, where I'm also building the two Han Solos in Carbonite.
Took the opportunity to take a picture of Han and my friend Anders:

Han is glued to the board now (minus the feet which will be added next time), next up is filling in the seams around him to make him blend into the board smoothly and add woodglue all around and make the carbonite texture. A lot of filling and sanding after that.

PS: We sometimes call Gabriel "Gabba", and Anders coined the phrase Gabba's Palace as the name for the basement. I thought it was hysterical and can't believe noone has thought of it before.

The ForceCast Podcast

I have to thank my buddy Tom Sutton (a great guitarist and Star Wars-fan who used to play in Church of Misery) for making me aware of The ForceCast podcast a year or two ago.

The ForceCast is a great weekly podcast by and for fans of Star Wars hosted by Jimmy Mac and Jason Swank. Their show often employs relevant guests, such as Steve Sansweet (founder of Rancho Obi-Wan), James Arnold Taylor (voiceactor supreme, voice of Obi-Wan in The Clone Wars animated series), and lots and lots of other people related to the Star Wars universe.

With the recent news of Disney's aqcuisition of Lucasfilm and announcement of upcoming Star Wars sequels (with episode VII scheduled for 2015), it's fun to take part in Jason and Jimmy's round-up of rumours and discussion of announcements related to that.
Another thing I really like about their show is their enthusiasm and optimism, making it a very uplifting show.

It's just a great show to wind down and relax to, check it out!

Here you can visit their facebook page.

Helping fellow trooper TK-3444 move

Today we troopers in Nidaros helped fellow trooper TK-3444 move back to Trondheim with his family.
We showed up to an empty house and soon after a movingtruck came with all their belongings and we proceeded to work like a little antfarm and carried everything inside the charming abode.

TK-3444 is also one of the lucky few to own a Han In Carbonite glass table, an awesome piece indeed!

"He's worth a lot to me..."

After everything was transported inside, we ate pizza and watched through the photos from a recent photoshoot we did in a studio, awesome photos soon to surface and spread the awesomeness of the Nidaros crew. A very nice friday evening!

Star Wars Trivial Pursuit

We sometimes meet up at my work to play a game of Star Wars Trivial Pursuit Original Trilogy Edition.
Me, my boss, a politician and a comic book writer comprise the core group of players, but there are always others that join in, so much that we're thinking about buying a second game and have two games going at the same time. Making kind of a tournament out of it.
The comic book writer, Mads, drew a really cool picture of Garindan (The spy with the trunk-nose in Mos Eisley) as a prize/diploma, that hangs in the bar and everytime a person wins, their name gets added under the picture.

It's been a while since we've played now, so it's time to meet up and find out who's the biggest geek.

Star Wars-kubb!

Here in the Nordic countries we have a past-time for those sunshine days (that are increasingly few and far between..) called "kubb" (the swedish equivalent of "log").

I won't go into the specifics of the rules. but can mention as much that there are two teams (1 to 6 people on each) behind each line of logs that have to toss sticks over to the other side to knock down the other teams logs, just google it...

Anyways, you can buy a set of "kubb" pretty cheap, and they are basically pieces of hard wood cut to size, plain and simple. But I got the idea to paint one side with the rebel alliance logo and the other side with the imperial cog. Fun!

A little swag

Recieved a few patches the other day:

One patch + tab from FISD
The tab was supposed to be a Centurion one, but it got mixed up, and the correct one is on its way in the mail.

And I recieved a standard 501st Legion patch from TK-4149 Scott Magerfleisch, completely free, he also included a nice christmas card with greetings wishing me welcome to the Legion.

And the most recent acquisition was a Legion name badge, with magnet fastening on the back, really nice!
I suppose this will come in handy when attending larger events and "aftertroops".
